AUSTRIAN TOURIST IN GANG RAPE HORROR

Police are hunting a gang of youths who raped an Austrian mother-of-two during a weekend shopping trip to London. The 32-year-old woman was attacked by six youths - aged between 14 & 20 - as she went for a stroll from her hotel in the King's Cross area. Police said the gang grabbed the woman when she got to a canal towpath stripped her naked & raped her before pushing her into the canal. She was treated for cuts & shock.

PM "DELIGHTED" BY ANTI-TERROR OPERATION

The Prime Minister has said he is "absolutely delighted" by the success of the latest anti-terrorist operation. John Major said the security forces deserved "all our congratulations for this important operation". He said the discovery of IRA attack plans made it "impossible to reconcile Sinn Fein's rhetoric for peace". But Mr Major stressed Britain remained "fully committed" to a "comprehensive political settlement" in Ulster.
