Eu reaction to

Britain's cattle cull decision: The EC is making clear it regards the British Government's decision to suspend its selective slaughter scheme as a breach of commitment. Prime Minister John Major had agreed to undertake it at the Florence summit last June. The Agriculture Commissioner said the delay in carrying out the cull of those cattle most at risk through BSE ruled out a lifting of the UK beef ban.
