DEATH REVEALED OF SECOND PECKHAM YOUTH

Police have confirmed that a second Nigerian boy recently died of stabbing injuries on the same estate where Damilola Taylor was attacked. Shola Agora 17 was found in the back of a car after being attacked in Sceaux Gardens nine days before Damilola died A 17-year-old youth has been accused of Shola's murder. Police have made no mention of any link between the deaths. Ten-year-old Damilola was found in London's North Peckham estate on Monday

DOZENS OF POLICE IN DAMILOLA TRACE BID

Dozens of uniformed police have taken to the streets of Peckham in a bid to trace the last movements of murdered Damilola Taylor a week ago. Officers were drafted in from many parts of south-east London to hand out leaflets with a picture of the boy. Police earlier released close circuit TV footage featuring the 10-year-old shortly before he was stabbed. Damilola wearing a silver puffer jacket can be seen entering a library.

MAN 46 ARRESTED IN LAMPLUGH INQUIRY

A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh 14 years ago John Cannan is being quizzed by detectives on suspicion of kidnapping and murdering Miss Lamplugh 25. She vanished after going to show a property to a man called "Mr Kipper" in Fulham south-west London in 1986. Miss Lamplugh's body has never been recovered. The suspect is being questioned at a London police station.

PASSENGER TRAIN HITS BUCKET ON TRACKS

An investigation is under way after a train carrying 23 passengers struck a large steel digger bucket on the track. The bucket disabled the train when it became wedged underneath & passengers had to be helped from the carriages. Transport police said the incident on the Cardiff Valley Lines appeared to be a result of "railway operational error" Railtrack has confirmed that engineering work was being carried out in the area at the time.
