MONDAY'S BUSINESS IN COMMONS AND LORDS

In the Commons questions to Welsh ministers will be followed by questions to the Attorney General. MPs then continue the Budget debate for a fourth day. This will be followed by a backbench debate on care in the community in Margate & Herne Bay. Business in the Lords includes the Police Bill (committee stage) Allocation of Housing Regulations & Homelessness Regulations.

CHUNNEL DRILL COMPLETED "SUCCESSFULLY"

A full-scale emergency drill in the Channel Tunnel has been completed "satisfactorily" Eurotunnel says. Now they are hoping Eurostar services will resume this week. All the "passengers" were evacuated from the tunnel within 130 minutes of the "accident" ` a successful outcome according to a spokesman. But Thanet MP Roger Gale dismissed the exercise as a charade because fire crews & police did not take part.

DEATH CRASH AMBASSADOR RETURNS TO ZAIRE

Zaire has recalled its ambassador to France after he was involved in a car crash in which two youths died. Ramazani Baya claimed diplomatic immunity from prosecution. Police said he was speeding when he hit the boys on a pedestrian crossing in Menton. He was ordered back at the request of the French government. One 13-year-old boy died instantly in the crash last Wednesday. The other aged 12 died in hospital on Saturday.
